GSM questions
What does GSM mean?
GSM stands for grams per square metre. It measures how heavy, and roughly how thick, the fabric is. Higher GSM means a denser, more durable fabric.
Is higher GSM always better?
Not always. Higher GSM is more premium and durable but warmer and costlier. For hot weather, events and sports, a lighter fabric is often the better choice.
Why are polos heavier than T-shirts?
Pique knit, used for polos, has a textured structure that weighs more and holds a collar, so polos usually start around 200 GSM.
